I came across a blog when I am on the net just now. One of the content struck me, reminding me of my huge desire to be a pilot.
During my high school days, I always have that dream, desire, and passion to be a pilot. I love aviation, almost anything about an aircraft. I love flying, and always look forward to be onboard an aircraft. Got straight A's for my PMR just for the sake of going for a science stream, which will enable me to apply for cadet pilot. At the same time, I got an offer to go to a science school, which I decided to accept the offer.
Boarding school is okay in terms of teaching me on how to be independent. Not relying too much on other people. However, it is a disaster for my studies. Tough competition, and a bit of culture shock has taken its toll on me. My results dropped, I have a tough time struggling to cover and understand the topics for all subjects, and honestly, without REAL cooperation from the teachers, it was so tough but I managed to finish my SPM there. My SPM was not all good, but I believe I have done my best, and I am thankful for that. Personally, getting into boarding school is a wrong decision that I have made. I didn't blame the teachers or my friends, but honestly I blame myself for that.
In a span of 4 years, I have applied for Malaysia Airlines, AirAsia, and Etihad Airways cadet pilot programme. Three times for AirAsia, and once for Malaysia Airlines and Etihad. I got none till now.
Tough, but life is not a bed of roses. Self fund training is out of the question. I won't put the burden onto my parents just for the sake of my desire and passion. I ended up doing foundation in TESL, and currently in UiTM doing Degree in Professional Communication. Push myself hard till I was listed into the Dean List student in the precious semester. Happy? Yes. Thankful? Yes. Satisfied? Honestly, no.
I always have that thought on if it is still possible for me to be a pilot. Logically, it will be a big no. Not-so-convincing SPM result, non-science & technical based degree course, tough competition for cadet pilot sponsorship. Having a good knowledge and interest in aviation alone, is not enough. Still need to fork out like maybe RM350k for the license.
All I want to do is, to get myself into a field where I enjoy the most. I want to have a career that I love, enjoy and have full passion for it. I would love to work 30000 feet up in the air. I'd be happy to fly an aircraft from one point to another. I'd be honoured to have those gold epaulette on my shoulder. That is one of the main things that I have prayed for when I performed my Umrah back in February 2013.
All I need, is a chance. Not much, just one.

Dusty Old Blog
Damn it's been a week since I've updated my blog. Not because I am busy, honestly because I am just plain lazy to do so. Anyway, last weekend was full of voluntary police activity, along with spending few hours on Dr.O's assignments.
On the last Saturday, I started off my morning with Subuh prayer and preparing for the training session. We had a 400m and 100m sprint test, 2.4km endurance test and marching session. I gotta admit my fitness level has dropped down dramatically since last semester. As I was an NR last semester, I didn't go for any jogging session for a whole freakin' 6 months. The outcome? I spent 17 minutes and 33 seconds to complete my 2.4km run. WHATTTTTT?
Okay, let's just leave it that way. I gotta admit I am bored of the idea of updating my blog on daily basis. There's nothing much to say, although it is good to write something everyday. But hey, it is hard to get a high quality outcome if you force a person to do something right??
Anyway, that will be all today. Gotta finish up my Dr.O's assignment now.

Usual Thursday
Why usual? Because there was nothing much that happened today. Woke up early for Subuh prayer, and then went straight to Level 9 for Technical writing and pragmatics class. During the technical writing class, we did some presentation on progress report. A simple and easy to understand report I'd say. After that, Mike informed us that Pragmatics class has been cancelled. However, like usual, Dr Cynthia left us with some work involving politeness theory.
After that, we have MGT417 class in the Business Faculty. This subject is interesting and the new lecturer is teaching rather than blabbing like the previous lecturer. No offence, but everyone have their own opinion and view on something. Truth hurts, they say.
After class, we went to seksyen 2 for lunch (not really a lunch maybe) and then went to seksyen 7 for some nachos and few games of monopoly deal.
Till then :)

Sweaty morning, smiling evening
Dr.O's class was okay I guess. Didn't do much as I have presented for my academic writing presentation last week with Ameen and Shiqin. Then, disaster strucked. Dr.O reminded us to hand in 6 assignments next week. DIEEEEEEEEE
After that, we went to Kenanga for MGT420 class. We discussed on the past year questions, and obviously the lecturer were not so satisfied with our knowledge on the chapter that has been learned before. -_-"
Have lunch with Aisy in Subway, and then went to the Teratai office to pick up a parcel. Then I went to PTAR to finish off my EPC550 company portfolio assignments with Daus and Faiz. Alhamdulillah, managed to finish them up, and went to Sek. 2 to print everything :D
It is a happy day for me today as, I got to eat Subway (been craving for it for weeks!), finished an assignment, got a good giggle with friends, anddddd......

Got myself a present as it's been a while since I bought myself an aircraft model. I have a hobby of collecting aircraft model. Maybe I'll post about it in my blog someday.
Till then :D

Sunburn, sweat, and winning
Those three words are perfect just to describe my weekend. APB organized an event called Sukan Piala Dekan which involve competitions such as volleyball, chess, futsal, and netball. Since this tournament is held annually, I guess this could be my last Piala Dekan tournament because in a year time, I will be busy with my internship.
So, I decided to join the volleyball team. However, Idzham put my name into the men's futsal team as they need a goalkeeper. Since it is my preferred position, I just agree with it. Idzham and I are the only LG220 students in part 4 futsal team, and the others are in LG221. AWKWARDDD. And to make things worse, I saw most of the goalkeeper for other team are so. err. fat? big? well, you get the idea T_T
Alhamdulillah, we went on to the final round and I managed to keep a clean sheet till the semi final. The proudest moment came when we beat the Part 2 team in a penalty shootout. I still can't believe I managed to save two penalty kicks and brought our team to the final round. However, we lost the final match with the part 5 students with the score of 2-0
The next day, Nabil, Idzham, Faliq, Dzul, Farris, Fikri, Achik and I went in for the volleyball match. We participated in this game last year but we lost in the semi final round. For this year's tournament, we managed to go through to the final round. We lost the first set, but managed to made a comeback, thanks to Idzham's "epic" winning-point. A weekend well spent, and worth it too :)

The ecstasy of winning and making a comeback

Worth every sweat :D

End of Week 5 :D
Okay, I know I screwed up something when I realize I didn't update my blog for a freaking two days. Well, past is the past, we can't change anything much. So I'm just gonna move on to focus on writing my post today.
Today marked the last day of week 5 :D Jyeahh another week has passed and of course, closer to our final examination. Thankfully it has been a good weekend. Not a real smooth one for sure but I consider this weekend as a usual week. I haven't had a proper sleep for the last two nights due to the fact of having to prepare my presentation involving EPC682 and MGT417. Thank goodness it is a group work and the burden is not too heavy since all of us divided the work and Alhamdulillah, we managed to complete them.
For today, we started off with our Technical Writing class. Dr Paramjeet explains on instruction list and we have to prepare a short presentation to explain about this topic. We've presented on using the baby carriage and it went on well, I guess.
After that, we have a Pragmatics class with Dr Cynthia. I'm in love with this class over and over again as Dr Cynthia is very cool and she made teaching and understanding lesson very easy. We have a short presentation an an intense presentation. Intense, in a positive way as everyone participated in QnA session and made an open discussion. For a personal note, I do hope to see more lecturers like Dr Mazli and Dr Cynthia. They can attract student's attention quickly, and also enhance our confidence in explaining and also discussing something. Of course, the assignments given came with a clear instruction on what she expect us to do, and at the same time on how should we accomplish it. Trust me, an assignment with some ambiguous instruction is not cool. So not cool.
Well, another long weekend for us. Everyone will always look forward for weekend, including the lecturers ;)

A start of week 5
Anyway, today monday blues started off with a late Subuh prayer at around 7.00 a.m. Mum will be mad if this happens in home. Usual walk up through Delima Hill towards Cempaka 4 for our MGT420 class. Morning class is usually okay since, it is still early and my mind is still fresh. So, of course, no sleeping in class. Haha. Thankfully, I got full marks for today's MGT420 quiz, thanks to Aini for her "prediction" of the quiz ;)
Went up to menara, and took some time finishing my Pragmatics summary, which we will have to submit it to Dr Cynthia on Tuesday. After a little bit of adjustment and editing on the Press Release assignment, I went to PTAR to print it out and managed to submit it to Dr Paramjeet during her class on the evening.
The highlight of the day is, ORIGAMI! :Dr Paramjeet asked us to create a rough idea on how our brochure design for the company portfolio assignment, and yeah, our group did some brainstorming, and origami session :D
Creative artwork made by Faiz and I today. However, we did not managed to put on any colour or additional design to it. But hey, AT LEAST we did something. Haha
And currently, I am in PTAR dealing with some assignment and preparation for tomorrow's presentation. I am surely hoping for another smooth and silky day tomorrow.
Till then :)

Long day made short
Friday is a holiday since we don't have any class. For today, I woke up quite late, around 9.00 a.m. Went straight to shower and qadha my Subuh prayer. After some hot Milo, I went straight to PTAR to do my assignments. Is it an assignment day for me? Naaah. Spent few hours on press release assignments, and managed to finish it. Then, I started on doing my Pragmatics note but didn't manage to finish it.
Today is more like a card-game day. After the Friday prayer in Masjid Sultan Mizan, went back to PTAR, just to have a few UNO card games, along with surfing the internet. I got back in college around 4.00 p.m, and have an early dinner in Dataran Cendekia. AWESOME NASI KERABU IS JUST AWESOMEEEEE :D
Anyway, my roommate and I planned on to watch G.I Joe on midnight, but all the tickets are sold out. SHOOOOOT -,-" And so here I am, writing blog post. Gotta go to sleep now as I have marching practise tomorrow.

Last day for this week YEAAAHOOOO
Anyway, today we started off with Technical Writing class. Nothing much as Dr Paramjeet only asked us to update on our webpage design, and yeah, I came up with something

Haha. I designed the webpage using Paint application. Of course Nabil will not agree on this, but hey, at least I DID design something. Anyway, our Pragmatics class with Dr Cynthia is just about writing down on two of the main concepts of pragmatics and the explaination. Dr Cynthia is not in class as she have to attend a meeting in APB. Leisure morning? You bet :)
I spent the evening in PTAR 1 dealing with Dr.O's acaddemic writing assignment. After extracting some inportant point from the article, I spent the rest of the evening playing Monopoly Deal with Aisyah and Emma. Hey, we're sleepy That is the main reason why we played Monopoly Deal :D
At night, I went to Meranti College to interview one of my friend, who is a vice project manager of an event in Faculty of Education in INTEC. This is made in order for me to get adequate information for my press release assignment. Ahamdulillah, managed to get a good dinner, along with all the information for my assignment.
A productive day? 70% I'd say. No "balik kampung" for me this weekend. Too many assignments and task, along with weekly Voluntary Police training. Oh yes, and G.I Joe 2 movie outing on Sunday
Till then ;)

Wonderful Wednesday
Our day today started, as usual, at 8.30 a.m. I started walking from Teratai College at 7.30 a.m as Lab 2, APB is quite far off from my college. Our first class for today is EPC 682 with Dr. O. Dr.O is well known for his "unpredictable" way of handling the class, along with his "insane" assignments. Dealing with a software for 2 direct days without sleep is, awesome. And tiring as well. I'm quite sure, this semester will be just the same as the previous semester.
Dr. O taught us about video editing today, using the Sony Vegas 5 software. At this while, I think that is software is user friendly and honestly, it is fun to be able to edit videos. NO I AM NOT GONNA MAKE A VIDEO OF ME DANCING WHILE IMITATING A SONG. Except for the karaoke assignment -,-"
After 4 hours of Dr.O's class, we rushed straight to the Business Management Faculty as our MGT420 class was held at one of the room there. For most peeple, having a class during lunch hour is a hell. But for me, it is a heaven. During lunch hour, most people went out to get their lunch, thus giving us a lot of opportunities to get a parking space there. JYEAHHH. Since, our class ended at 2.00 p.m, it enable us to have lunch peacefully as during that time, most of the students and staff are back in class or office, whereas our class has just ended. NO MORE DEALING THROUGH CROWD FOR FOOOD :D
So that is just about it. My evening activity? Well let's just shut it down here shall we? You can't know everything.

Tiring Tuesday
Then, we had our Ethnic Relation class. Honestly, this should be my favourite class for this semester since the lecturer is sooooo chatty and sooooooo friendly :D Students love being a lil' bit casual and during this class, she encourage us to do so. We can always ask something, give opinions, made jokes a bit and laughing. I found that it is easier for students to learn in a more relax and casual way. No stress. Not even a bit. So our morning session went on well :D

There should be a test for our Pragmatics class just now. Honestly, I'm not really prepared for it. We were expecting a traditional no-you-can't-discuss-anything test for today. Instead, Dr Cynthia has brought a new way to conduct a test. In a group of 7 members consist of Athirah, Aini, Mike, Natrah, Mira,Najwa and I, we just have to put our heads together, and prepare a mind map based on our previous presentation :D COOOOL. At the end of the day, we managed to accomplish both task. We think, we write, and then we draw. Talking about awesomeness in a test :D
So that's just about it today. A bit tiring, but still an enjoyable day well spent. A productive day? Yeah, I think so :D
Till then :)

Heavenly Monday

Honestly, I love this subject. Not on all aspect of course, but I guess this subject is quite interesting. There is a section in this book called "Facing The Challenge" in every chapter. This section explains on real life situation (problems) faced by some well known company such as HP, Motorola, Nissan Co, to name a few, and on how they overcome the problem that arise and put themselves out from the red and back in the black.
For our afternoon's Technical Writing class, it went on for just an hour as Dr. Paramjeet needs to attend an event. During that one hour period, my group which consists of Nabil, Daus and Faiz, have come up with an idea for our company profile. Our company will be based on something quite common in Malaysia, but our idea, is out of this world, thanks to, well, US! :D
Need to do some revision now for tomorrow's Pragmatics test. Till then :)

Sleepy Saturday
You don't underestimate the power of FOOD especially towards student. Ready-stocked food on top of your locker helps a lot especially when you don't have a mood(in other words, lazy) to go down, buy dinner, and climb up the stairs all the way to the fifth floor back (Yes people, my room is in the fifth floor and it ain't funny -,- ) For this semester, I have a habit of having my lunch TWICE (afternoon and early evening), and then have a dinner usually after Isyak prayer. I ate a lot, and yes I can't stop -,-" Somehow I am thankful as even if I ate a lot, it is still not easy for me to gain weight. So I can just eat and eat and eat. I believe in the saying that, good food brings good mood :D Eating makes me happy, in fact, it made everyone else happy :D

Anyway, I've made some revisions involving the Pragmatics subject, along with a revision of Description of English subject. I didn't enjoy it at all but I just have to deal with it. Just like most of my friends said, master the first four chapters, and you'll pass the subject. I CAN DO THIS (YES WE CAN *Bob The Builder tone*). Like my dad said, tough semester for a tough guy. Yeah dad, try reading this book first -_____-"
I CAN HANDLE THIS DAMN TREE DIAGRAM GAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!
Till then -___-"

"Sloth"-ing Day on Friday
Today I don't feel like doing anything
I just wanna lay in my bed
Don't feel like picking up my phone
So leave a message at the tone
Because today I swear I'm not doing anything
#np
I just wanna lay in my bed
Don't feel like picking up my phone
So leave a message at the tone

Well the lyrics above tells you every detail about my day today. A day with no class, and yeap, I am back home in Rawang, just chillin' in my room. Woke up around 10 a.m today although I went to bed at 10 p.m last night. After lunch and Friday prayer, I turned on my notebook, checked on my Twitter, FB and of course, my blog. Then, a miracle happened :D

OHYEAHNOTRAININGSESSIONTHISWEEKEND! Haha. Seems like it'll be a longer weekend for me as well :D I do miss the marching practise with the squad members but honestly, there is nothing better than to know that you'll gonna have a longer weekend than usual. So I don't have to wake up early just for the sake of going back to Shah Alam for the training session :D In addition, I won't have to deal with all the other activities listed there because most of the slots have been filled. So, jyeahh. A longer weekend for me too ;)
Anyway, I found a book entitled "Boy and Going Solo" when I was checking on my old bookcase. This book belongs to my sister if I'm not mistaken. The book is written by Roald Dahl and actually, this book is a story of his own life experience. From the day he was born, worked in East Africa, became a pilot, and started a career in writing books. I'm not really an avid reader, but I still do some reading especially when it involves a real life events, aviation, and also autobiography.

Well, I should be reading on stuff related to my course this semester. Instead, I am now mingling around reading about some other people life stories. Maybe I'll start revising tomorrow. Maybe :D
Till then :)

Pragmatics Day: Thousands of meanings. One word
After a breakfast at the cafe, I went straight up to level 9 and around 40 minutes later, our lecturer for Pragmatics subject, Dr. Cynthia Doss came in. Our class started with a presentation on Conventional and a bit on Conversational Implicatures. I really enjoyed the class since I like the way Dr Cynthia teach, along with the good presentation made by one of the group. Then, we were divided into another group which consist of around 6 members per group for the next week's quiz to test our understanding on some of the chapters learned throughout the previous three weeks. After the pracmatics class ended, it is time for a dose of monopoly deal game :D

A revision in class? Maybe, just maybe :P

Essential reference book for this course
It has been a fantastic day since most of us can go back home later this evening! Not all of us, of course, but one thing for sure, our weekend will be slightly longer as we will not have any class tomorrow(Friday) :D
However, I surely hope that I will be able to use my free time on weekend wisely(Yeah right) instead of sleeping the whole day :P Well, like usual, I always hope to have another enjoyable days ahead and make a good productive day than yesterday :) And I am craving for snogurt now -__-"
Till then :)
Okay, not really a "free" weekend I suppose. Saturday is a voluntary police day. Will be a day full of marching practise along with M-16 rifle class. *faints*

LG 220: Where extreme short forms is a big NO
I'm Syed Aiman Zharif B. Syed Rozhan, an LG220(part 4) student from LG2204C. This blog is made specially for one of the subject which is MGT417 (Information Technology in Business). It's been about a year and a half since I've started my degree programme in APB. To be precise, the course is called Bachelor of Applied Language Studies (Hons.) English For Professional Communication. Coded as LG240, this course is, well, about professional communication (obviously -,-" ). Here, we were mainly exposed on the precise and accurate way of writing along with speaking due to the importance of these skills in order for us to communicate professionally and proficiently. In addition, throughout the previous three semesters, we have been exposed on the intercultural communication, academic writing, professional etiquette and also the basic of marketing, to name a few. Those subjects may give us some headache, but alhamdulillah most of us are still here studying hard to complete ourdegree level studies.
PTAR 1, where most of us spend our time there dealing with assignments
Okay, now back to APB. APB is "Akademi Pengajian Bahasa" and yes, there are still a lot of students who didn't actually know the existence of APB. A raised eyebrows always happened whenever someone asked me which faculty I am from. I guess this is because our course is still new compared to the other courses offered in UiTM. The main reason why I choose this course, is because I want to get myself out from a teaching profession, at the same time retain my studies in English. Yeap, I do enjoyed my days during Asasi TESL in UiTM, but I guess teaching is not for me since I don't have any passion for teaching. In future, I am planning to continue my master in MBA-AM (Master in Business Administration-Aviation Management) hopefully in Embry Riddle Aeronautical University since my true passion, is in the aviation field. Whether I will achieve this dream or not, only time will tell.
Till then :)
